Job Title:  IT Support Technician

Job Description: The  IT Support Technician will be reporting to the Technical Director and be working in the technical department to support: corporate IT needs, Galaxy Control System products and Cloud Services. A strong knowledge of networks, servers, hardware, multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux) and the latest trends in IT will be invaluable in all support matters.

Job Duties: Day to day duties include maintaining the corporate network to ensure proper operation for all employees.  It will also be the responsibility of the IT Support technician to recommend any upgrades or changes to improve operations. Other functions will include: supporting the Cloud Services department in infrastructure design,configuration and maintenance; and  Galaxy Control Systems product support. Topics would include: software installation, firewalls, networking, virtual machines, databases, web servers, file permission, low voltage electronics.

This position also requires the technician to be on-call for a week every 6 weeks.  You will also receive a company paid cell phone and be compensated for being on call.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma

Strong networking knowledge would include: IP networking and routing, firewall configuration, troubleshooting: DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN. 

Strong computer knowledge would include: BIOS and RAID, installing Server and desktop OS, server/PC hardware, diagnosing server and desktop performance issues.

Dependability-This position is a critical part of the technical department and daily attendance is vital.  We are looking for someone who enjoys a daily challenge and works well mostly on their own but also works well in a group environment. This is not a position that is micromanaged and your success will be dependent on your motivation and drive.

Preferable:

Degree in Computer/IT related field

3-5 years of previous support experience

Network or hardware certification: Network+, A+, MCSE, CCNA

Access Control experience

SQL experience

Crystal Report creation

CRM systems
